Find a word on any board

You know the word is on a board somewhere. You just can't remember which page. Instead of opening folder after folder, type a couple of letters and SpeakAnyWay shows you where the word lives, then takes you straight there.

What you'll need

• A board open in the talking view (tap Speak on any board)
• That's it. Find a word is there for everyone using the board, including a communicator signed in on their own device.

Find a word

1. Open the board and tap Speak.
2. Tap the ⋮ button at the top right, then tap Find a word.
3. Type at least two letters. Matches show up as you type: "pi" finds pizza and spill.
4. Each result shows the picture, the word, and where it lives:
   • On this board means it's already on the page in front of you.
   • Otherwise you'll see the path to it, like Core 60 › Food, and how many taps away it is.
5. Tap a result.

SpeakAnyWay opens the page with that word on it. Anything already in the message bar stays put, so you can find a word in the middle of a sentence and keep going.

What it searches

Find a word looks through the board you're on and every page its folder tiles open, so a word tucked inside Food or Feelings still turns up.

• Same word in more than one place? You'll see it once, with Also on and the other pages listed underneath.
• Best matches come first. An exact match leads, then words that start with what you typed, then words inside a phrase, so "box" finds "juice box." Accents don't matter: "pina" finds "piña."
• Up to 25 results show at a time. If you get a lot, type another letter or two.

What to expect

• No internet? It still works, using the boards that have been opened on this device. If some pages haven't been opened there yet, you'll see "Connect to the internet to search every board."
• "Only boards opened on this device were searched." You're online, but the full search couldn't answer just then. The results you see are real; a word on a page that's never been opened on this device might be missing. Try again in a moment.
• "No word like that on these boards." The word isn't on this board or any page it links to. To add it, see Edit a board.
• Very large board sets can show "Some boards weren't searched." Open the board closest to the word you want (say, the Food page) and search from there.

Common questions

• Does it change anything on the board? No. It only finds words and takes you to them. Nothing gets moved, added, or saved.
• Can my communicator use it? Yes. It's in the ⋮ menu in the talking view whether you or your communicator is signed in.
• Why didn't it find a word I know is there? It searches the board you're on and the pages it opens. If the word is on a separate board that isn't linked from this one, open that board and search there.
• Does it work on Action boards? Yes, it's in the same ⋮ menu.
